Mom worked as a Computer Operator the majority of her life, then as a technician at Grass Valley Veterinary Hospital, where she found her true calling, working with animals, which she found extremely rewarding, and much too often, sad.
She made it her mission in life to protect animals. She volunteered for many organizations that would feed feral cats, and help to get them spayed or neutered, and if they needed a home, she would work hard to find them one, and if she couldn't, she would take them in herself, where she would provide food, shelter, and all of them had a heating pad in the winter. Often, she would do without so that her "babies" wouldn't have to. At one point, she had upwards of 18 kitties and remembered the names of each and every one.
She also had a couple of much loved dogs, (Polar, Amber, Akila and Boomer), chicken's and once, for a time, a demented, abandoned goat, in which she eventually found him a home with people who could appriciate his, ah, "Spirited" nature!
Mom had many health problems in the last several years of her life, but always maintained a happy disposition, and never let much stop her from her from what she wanted to do.
A couple years prior to her death, she was in an auto accident, and broke portions of both feet. Upon her death, she was waiting for surgery on her feet that would enable her to walk without pain.
She loved people and loved to talk to, well, just about anyone who would listen.
A small errand would turn into a day trip, because she would chat with the clerks, someone behind her in line. Her "Hello's" lasted days, and her "Goodbyes", even longer, which was why we were all so shocked and saddened at how quickly and quietly she left us all....
She enjoyed gardening, plasic canvas, making dreamcatchers, reading, spending time on her computer, and genealogy.
She very much loved spending time with all her grandson's and would do so, on almost a daily basis. She was very devoted to us all.
She loved the idea of guardian angels, spiritual guides, random acts of kindness and God. She was patriotic and loved her soaps.
She is missed terribly by her sister, Valerie Santos, brother, Kenneth Blaine Hutton, daughters Dawn, Terri and Kelli, Grandson's Shane, Alex and Blaine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Blaine Elbert (Bud) Hutton and Lorraine Elizabeth (Miles) Hutton, stepson, Michael Barnett, maternal grandma and grandpa, Anna and John Miles, and paternal grandparents, Helen (Hutton) Higbe and Ray Hutton.
