Thomas E. Dickensheets, 80, of Croswell, died on Monday, December 8, 2008, in Port Huron Hospital.
He was born on October 2, 1928 in Detroit, son of the late Verance and Kathleen (MacNeil) Dickensheets.
He and Clara J. Torzewski were married on August 30, 1952 in Croswell.

He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Tom was a printer with the Sanilac Jeffersonian for 26 years.

He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Croswell, the Ushers Club, the St. Patrick Credit Union, and the American Legion Post 255, Croswell. He was a volunteer fireman with the Croswell Fire Department for 42 years. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus #7255, Fr. LaHaie Council, Lexington.

He is survived by his wife, Clara; sons, Thomas A of Croswell, Timothy J. of Bay City, John P. (Marcy Goyette) of Saline, and Patrick J. (Myrna) of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Jane M. (Randy) Perry of Traverse City, Kathy R. Dickensheets of Birmingham, Anne M. (Don) Dimick of Lansing, and Mary J. (Tim) Ringquist of Holland; brothers, William of Reno, NV, and Richard of San Antonio, TX; 17 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Newton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald J. Eppenbrock will officiate.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Croswell.

Visitation will be at the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Croswell from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, and 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, and at the church from 10-11 a.m. Thursday. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Memorials can be made to the Church, or Croswell Fire Department.
