God blessed you, Robert. You shouldn't have attacked and robbed the First National Bank. If you haven't, you would be alive and lived longer.

Thinking of You so often. In memory of a young, handsome guy with a tendency to wild things, that changed his life forever.I always hope this accident would have never happened.but who can alter this?Nobody. Maybe god just wanted you to stay with him in heaven.I hope so.With much love, the way: i've never thought you were a cruel guy and I understand why you changed from the side of law into outlawry

Handsome Bob Dalton, first a deputy marshal and then an outlaw leader, posed for this picture in the Indian Territory in 1889, two years before he was killed. Emmett Dalton said the woman in the photograph was Eugenia Moore, Bob's sweetheart.

My mom would always decorate your grave when she went to visit her family at the cemetery. Thought I would do the next best thing.

I think it is a real sad shame that someone stole your headstone last week. My Dad and I drove all the way from Mississippi to pay respects only to find your grave had been dishonored in such a way, and the fact that they refused to allow you to be laid to rest next to your brother Frank and instead put you next to the train tracks was very insulting to me. I walked the streets of Coffeyville, I stood at the spot were you fell and I felt the presence of the hostility in this town towards even the mention of your names. I found it quit sad that people were so rude there when they found out we were Daltons. I hope that you will find rest and some comfort in the fact that not everyone believes that you were evil and understands some of the reasons you boys committed some of these acts. while you may have made the wrong decisions, You are forgiven by this branch of the family and we are proud to carry the name and you will be forever remembered in the hearts of those who love you. RIP Angela Dalton L. one of your (Tenn/Mississippi/Alabama Cousins)

Cousin Bob,So sad to see the comments indicating how little many know about the Dalton Gang. Yes, you were outlaws, died accordingly, but Emmett's Books and research reveal a lot of information as to how this all came about via the Southern Pacific railroad. RIP
