R.I.P. Sir.My great grandfather was a member of Company "K", 5th Georgia Infantry when Jackson was the colonel. The 5th Georgia was later in John K. Jackson's brigade.

Gen. John King Jackson was wounded in the last major engagement of Mr. Lincoln's war, June 22, 1865, Bradenton, Florida. The attempt to repulse a Federal force under Col. Nathan W. Daniels failed. He died the following February, having failed to heal.
