I understand why you sought perfection from your men: it was your job to train men to save their country and keep themselves alive, and you did exceptionally well. I wish you hadn't've carried so harsh of perfection so heavily upon yourself: very few people could be all things to everyone, but you tried...especially on yourself when you were reassigned. There was no shame, you simply didn't have all the tools to be everything, and I doubt anyone does. I wish you didn't do to yourself what you did, things would've come around and I think you would've come to understand and appreciate what you did do for your men...and your country. You could've had a very rich life, but you served, trained and did something...and that's more than enough. I hope you finally found peace, Sir. Thank you for what you gave to your country, your family, to life. You will not be forgotten.

God bless you for your service, Mr. Sobel. I know you were portrayed badly on Band of Brothers but if it weren't for your tough training, the outcome of WW2 in Europe would've been different. RIP.

Thank you for your service to our country. Few want to go to war, but when they must, they usually give it their best, and you did that. May you have peace from the struggles & pain of this world. Rest now.

In the series the Band Of Brothers, Capt Sobel might of been a tyrant in many eyes, but I think he trained those men well. The military is not a playground, you go into the military to learn to kill and survive and that is what he trained his men to do.Thank you Captain Sobel for the service you gave your country.

Thinking of you and all the men and women who have served and continue to serve this great nation during this Veteran's Day weekend. I am humbled by your enormous sacrifices and I hope that somewhere in heaven you can feel the love and gratitude of the American people for your service. God bless you and your family.

Thank you for keeping us free, Sir, and for training fine men to do the same. You might not have been the best C.O., but your result speaks for itself. You turned out some fine, well-trained men.

My two grandfathers served in Chinese army and fought in WWII against Japanese. Captain Sobel, after reading Ambrose's Band of Brothers, I really think you are the person who created the Easy Company. Both my mom and I feel very sad that you did not enjoy the peace time you deserved. Captain Sobel, you did a great job as an army officer. I respect you very much.
