Wiley Anderton was the son of John Anderton of Halifax, VA. and Gemima Megee Kimbro Anderton, and the grandson of George Anderton and Mollie Roberts Anderton of Virginia.
Wiley married Rebecca Eaton in 1859 and they had one son, John Washington Anderton. Wiley enlisted into the Confederate Army in 1861, and in September of 1863 was wounded in the Battle of Chichamauga. Five days later Wiley was captured and he arrived at the Rock Island Federal Prison, Illinois, December 11th, 1863. Wiley died of "remit fever", February 29, 1864 in Rock Island, Illinois which was a northern POW camp during the Civil War. Ironically, he was placed in Barrack number 31, with his brother James W. Anderton.
Wiley was survived by his wife Rebecca and son John Washington Anderton. His son, who was born October 26, 1859 (Granville, TN. Jackson Co.), later married Mary Catherine Elliott and amongst their children, Emmett Pearl Anderton was born May 16, 1895.
Emmett Anderton married Maggie Faye Mullins and had 9 daughters, one being Dorsie Mae Anderton, born January 26 1925.
Dorsie Mae Anderton married William Houston Milliron and had two sons, William Jr. and James Emmett Milliron along with one daughter: Pamela Jean Milliron (Jarvinen)
