ANNIE McGANN CUMPSTON, age 6, of Jarrettsville, died at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, on March 23, 2003. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Thomas Richard and Megan Jean McGann Cumpston of Jarrettsville. She was a student at St. Margaret School in Bel Air and was also a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. She loved Highland Dance, soccer, gymnastics, softball, and being a Brownie. She was a little mother to her sisters and was a caring child who seemed to take care of everyone else.

In addition to her parents, Annie is survived by grandparents, Albert John and step-grandmother Mary Anne Sakson-McGann of Fort Myers, Florida; Ollie Thomas and Lottie Theresa Cumpston of Jarrettsville; sisters, Susan Marie Cumpston; Alice May Cumpston; Madelyn Grace Cumpston all of Jarrettsville; aunts and uncles, Timothy McGann and his wife, Jennifer of Brighton, Michigan; Erin Hyson of Fallston; Patrick McGann and his wife, Lisa of Bel Air; Daniel McGann and his wife, Beth of Bel Air; Kathleen McGann of Bel Air; Drew Gilmartin, III and his wife, Carol of Baldwin; Tom Tompros and his wife, Lorene of Ellicott City; cousins, Benjamin Hyson; Sean Hyson; Emily Hyson all of Fallston.; Leah McGann; Evan McGann; Andrea McGann all of Bel Air; Ryan McGann; Conor McGann both of Michigan; Mollie McGann; Claire McGann; Fiona McGann all of Bel Air; Britney Gilmartin; Hannah Gilmartin both of Baldwin; Evan Tompros and Adrianna Tompros both of Ellicott City. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Alice Ann McGann.
Pallbearers will be: Tom Tompros, Drew Gilmartin, Kevin McMahon, Tim McGann, Pat McGann, Dan McGann, and Tony Migliaccio.

Annie was a beautiful child who had the biggest heart. She seemed to feel personally responsible for the happiness of others. She wanted to take care of anyone who just needed a friend. Annie was often called "Momma Annie." Annie was in Kindergarten at St. Margaret's School in Bel Air, Maryland. She loved dancing, playing soccer, softball, and being a Brownie. She loved playing dress up with her sisters Susie, Alice and Madelyn.

In March 2003, Annie, her sisters and her parents Tom and Megan were leaving the Circus in Baltimore, Maryland. While in the crosswalk with her family, Annie was struck and killed by a drunk driver.
She was an angel on earth and is now a special angel in Heaven. She continues to be missed by the dozens of family members, friends and all who knew her.
