"Parents are wrong. According to the Pickering Y-DNA Project on FamilyTreeDNA, my Y-DNA (R-M269) matches Samuel Pickering Sr., but not that of John Pickering b. 1615 Warwickshire, Eng.(R-M173) who immigrated to Salem. There are other DNA participants in the project which supports this conclusion. I do not known of any evidence of Samuel's parents. There is an unsupported story that he immigrated from Bristol England".
