One son and the eldest daughter preceded him to the Spirit Land. His companion died about nine years ago. He was married again the 18th of October, 1909, to Miss Priscilla Fodge of Muncie, Indiana.
He was baptized in his infancy, and confirmed in the German Lutheran Church in his fourteenth year. He was a member of the Evangelical Church about 45 years, and later a member of the United Brethren Church 4 years, from which he received his church letter, and last spring he and his wife handed their letters to the Evangelical pastor, and were recognized as members in full fellowship of the Evangelical Society in Marcellus.
In his departure he leaves to mourn a Christian companion, five children, nineteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, three sisters, with many other relatives and friends, but not without hope of meeting beyond the grave.
The funeral services were held at the Evangelical Church, Feb. 6th at 1:30 p.m. by the pastor, assisted by Rev. Freeland of Buchanan, Michigan, and the remains were laid to rest in the Bly Cemetery.
