"Perhaps After Death" ...Perhaps, then, star-dazzled, we will understand that we have seen him and all the stars will burst with glory and we, too, in this ultimate explosion of matter and time we will know what it is to be perhaps. Rest in peace, my friend.

93. birthday Madeleine L'Engle (November 29, 1918 September 6, 2007) was an American writer best known for her young-adult fiction, particularly the Newbery Medal-winning A Wrinkle in Time and its sequels A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Many Waters, and An Acceptable Time. Her works reflect both her Christian faith and her strong interest in modern science.

"Suddenly there was a great burst of light through the Darkness. The light spread out and where it touched the Darkness the Darkness disappeared. The light spread until the patch of Dark Thing had vanished, and there was only a gentle shining, and through the shining came the stars, clear and pure."- Madeleine L'Engle, A Wrinkle in Time
