Berenece was active in the Our Lady of Lourdes Church in California City, Kern County, before moving to Sonora in 2000, where she volunteered with Hospice of the Sierra and kept books for her son Peter's business, Peter Matthew and Co. She was also active in her new parish, St. Patrick's of Sonora, and its Cursillo group. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards.

She has one daughter and 2 sons and their spouses, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William H. Feltenberger; brother, Harland Brown; daughter, Gerry Sue Feltenberger; and parents, Charles Brown and Genevieve Gage.

There was a rosary service at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home in Sonora. A funeral mass was held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sonora.

Donations may be made in her name to the Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice of the Sierra, P.O. Box 4805, Sonora, CA 95370.
