In the late 1880s, Martha and her husband moved to Texas by two covered wagons, along with their son JAMES ALBERT TUCKER, his wife WILLIE ELIZABETH and their four children. After arriving in Texas, the 3-generation Tucker family settled in Heath, Rockwall County, where they owned and operated a farm. Martha and her husband lived with James and Wille Elizabeth, along with a total of ten grandchildren -- six of whom were subsequently born in Texas.
Among the many descendants of Martha Whaley Tucker, were popular vocalist/recording artists, Sammie Lee Tucker, Ernestine Tucker, and Betty Jane Tucker, known professionally as The Tucker Sisters
