Well Dad, it was 24 years ago today that I got the phone call... you were gone, suddenly. And it hasn't been a picnic either since you left.. By now you've run into Mom and Brother. I would never have thought I would be the last one. Dad? I left Vermont and came "home" to Arkansas, I hope you approve. It was a one way trip here.. can't go back. But I love it here.... and will die here. Sorry I can't be laid to rest with the three of you in Vermont... it just wasn't in the plan. Too much pain and sad memories there in Vermont for me Dad..... Rest now...

Truly you were one of the traditional Ozark Mt. folklore and storytellers and an expert on the "juice harp." Our last visit to you proved what a storyteller you were-- and what a great one! You are remembered and loved. The memory of you and the stories you told brings laughter to my heart.

Dad?

I can still hear you and you're coming in "wall to wall and tree top tall"

You've loved your CB radio so much

(we'll catch you another way and a different day, this is that old Arkansas Traveler signing off)
