Kid, You were a baseball mastermind. I wish the boys had palyed on the square during the 1919 series. I really believed the Sox would have beaten the Reds. But you could pitch as well. You were a mainstay with the 1894 Baltimore Orioles that were National League Champs and one of the greatest teams of all time. Thanks for your efforts on behalf of the Sox, Kid.

He was called "Kid" because he was small in stature. It was said he played with baseballs before he learned to walk and began to play professional baseball when he was about 21.
