During the latter part of his career with the Steelers, Little began leading a weekly expedition to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. The players’ day off was on Tuesday, and every Tuesday, Little would round up some teammates and take them over to spend some time with the patients at Children’s Hospital. After wins, after losses, it didn’t matter. He died while weightlifting when he experienced cardiac fluttering due to heart disease. He dropped 250 pounds of weight, which rolled onto his neck and suffocated him.
