Ray Barnett, one of the two sons of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Barnett, Scott, Arkansas, who died in the line of duty, was killed in a plane crash in Alabama, Novenber 11, 1942, while stationed at Pensacola, Florida. He was an ensign in the Navy Air Corps. Barnett went into the service in 1942 and received his training at Pensacola. He was graduated from Arkansas schools and attended Arkansas State Teachers College. His brother, Jesse Donald Barnett, was captured on Bataan and died on a Japanese prison ship in October, 1944. He was attached to the Army Air Force.
