FREEMAN: May 10, 1643, Dorchester, Suffolk Co., MA.

William Trescott was an emigrant who came with his brother Thomas. He settled in Dorchester, Massachusetts where he became a freeman May 10, 1643. In 1657-1659 he was the constable there.

He died 11 September 1699, age 84 years 8 months. He made his will 9 Aug 1699, probated 25 Oct 1699. Bequeath to sons Samuel & John, to daughter Martha Adams and her children Mercy, Mary and Martha Huens, to daughter Abigail and her children Amiel and George Weeks, to daughter Sarah Modesly; to grandchild Joseph Trescott.

The first mention of William Trescott is when he is listed on 27 Nov 1642 at the First Church of Dorchester, as "taking hold of the covenant." In 1643, he was made a Freeman, and on 10 May of the same year he married Elizabeth Dyer. 1654 William Trescott administered the estate of his brother Thomas. 1657-58 William served as constable at Dorchester, and also tax collector. He made his will 9 Aug 1699, probated 25 Oct 1699 and bequeath to sons Samuel & John, daughter Martha Adams and her children Mercy, Mary and Martha Huens, to daughter Abigail and her children Amiel and George Weeks, to daughter Sarah Modesly; to grandchild Joseph Trescott.
