ROBERT R. SHUGART, 66, of Fort Wayne died Saturday in Lutheran Hospital.
The Auburn native was a veteran of the Air Force and an orthopedic surgeon with Fort Wayne Orthopedics. He was a member of DeKalb Lodge 214 F&AM.
He also was a fellow and member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons. Other medical memberships include the Tri State and Indiana Orthopedic societies, Mid American Orthopedic Association, American, Indiana and Allen County-Fort Wayne Medical societies, and the Fort Wayne Academy of Medicine and Surgery.
Surviving are his wife, Judith E.; daughters, Karol Shugart, Susan Shugart and Beth A. Shugart, all of San Francisco, Kathryn Shugart of San Jose, Calif. and Karen Moore of Pittsburg, Calif.; a son, Robert M. of Fort Wayne; a stepdaughter, Cynthia Leeper of Fort Wayne; a stepson, Todd A. King of Fort Wayne; his mother, Dorothy Shugart of Auburn; a grandchild; and two stepgrandchildren.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., where calling is 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Entombment will be in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
