Eva Danielson was a native of Macon county North Carolina. She was a daughter of Willian Elijah and Alice Southards Smith. She was married to Herbert Edward "Hub" Danielson. She lived, worked, and worshiped in Clay County for 67 years. She was a retired Clay County elementary school teacher. Eva was an accomplished artist in both painting and wood carving as well as being an avid gardener and farmer, taking care of a flock of sheep well into her 80's. She organized the singing group Joyful Sounds who later won the Govenor's award for "Volunteer Group of the Year." She also organized several homebound ministries.
Eva was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where she was a prayer warrior, RA leader, and Sunday School Teacher.
But most of all she was a friend, a neighbor and just a wonderful lady. She was one of a small group of adults at the Mt. Pleasant church that set me out on a straight path early in life. I have many pleasant memories of this dear lady in my childhood days. Continuing in that path of loving service she ministerd to my wife over the long distance between North Carolina and California during her long struggle with cancer. Lifting her spirits with prayer, phone calls, and little loving notes and clippings from the various papers..keeping the faith of love until that day when she had to line thru her name on her prayer list as one who had passed on to be with the lord. Now they are together again.
The memory and love for this wonderful woman will live forever in my heart.
