Garl B. "Doc" Winters, 87, 402 Beard St., died at 9 a.m. August 1, 1995, in Clinton House Convalescent Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Winters retired in 1992 as chef and restaurant manager for Frankfort Moose Lodge. He had previously worked for the former Del Monte Corp. and Bargain Center. He moved to Frankfort from the Lebanon area in the 1950's.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 7, Legion of the Moose, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was born June 30, 1908, in Jonesboro to Pearly Burr and Mary Leone Dolmon Winters. He married Mary Alice Perrine in 1929, and they divorced in 1942. He married Mildred Louise Miller in 1942, and she preceded him in death in January 1961. He married Nona Fuesting Tilton on March 4, 1966, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Garl Winters, Jr., and Robert W. Winters, both of Lebanon, and Ted Winters of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Ruth Ann) McIntire of New Haven and Mrs. Jay (Molly) Hoskins of Speedwell, Tennessee; a step-son, Bernard Fuesting of Frankfort; a step-daughter, Phyllis Fuesting of Frankfort; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Two sisters and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.
