Sgt. William W. Bushnell of Jasper, Arkansas was the only son of Peggy Fuselier Bushnell and Wesley Bushnell. He enlisted in the United States Army in 2002 and served in Afghanistan before he was deployed to Iraq. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. His second cousin Spc. Cory Burgess drowned at Fort Richardson's Clunie Lake, near Anchorage at age 23 while out canoeing with friends.
Will died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle was struck by a rocket propelled grenade during combat operations at age 24.
