CORRY — M. Jean Carlson, 80, of 23 E. Congress St., died Monday (Jan. 10, 2000) in Saint Vincent Health Center, Erie.She was born May 16, 1919, in Warren, the daughter of the Rev. J. Jesse and Ila Bailey Knapp.A 1937 graduate of Warren High School, she attended Edinboro Normal School. Active in community and church activities, she was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, its Friendship Aide and Rehobeth Sunday School Class.She enjoyed the outdoors, cooking and spending time with her family.Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Harold Carlson, whom she married June 17, 1939, in Elgin, Pa.; a daughter, Anita Stippich of Erie; three sons: David Carlson of Alabama, Jonathan Carlson of Warren and Thomas Carlson of Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, D.J. McCray of Naples, Fla.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry. The Rev. Paul E. Wilson Sr., pastor of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry.Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 911 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., 16407.
