Savannah R. Gragg, 9, Kokomo, died at 3:34 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Jan. 18, 2001, in Howard County, the daughter of Nicholas A. and Stephanie D. (Sprinkle) Gragg, and they survive.

Savannah just finished third grade at Taylor Primary School where she was an honor student, served on the safety patrol and was a member of the Student Council. She was looking forward to entering Taylor Intermediate in the fall and was also excited about attending Vacation Bible Schools this summer at different churches she had visited. She was known as a friendly and very happy child who was well-liked by all. She played Junior Pixie softball at Taylor and liked the second base and shortstop positions.

Surviving, in addition to her parents of Kokomo, is a sister, Liberty Grace Gragg, at home; paternal grandparents, Stephen and Martha Gragg, Bradenton, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Oliver and Pamela Sprinkle, Hemlock; great-grandmother, Rosella Porter, Kokomo; aunts and uncles, Stevie Reed, Miami County, Kathryn Gragg, Bradenton, Fla., Lori and Reggie Stout, Hemlock, and Jonathan Sprinkle, Lafayette; her best friend and cousin, Garrett Stout, and her soon-to-be-born cousin, Wyatt Stout, both of Hemlock; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents, Earl Porter and Clyde and Kathryn Gragg; and maternal great-grandparents, Bill and Ruth Greer and Margie and John Sprinkle.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Taylor High School Gymnasium, 3794 E. 300 South, with Mike Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, and one hour before the service at the school on Thursday.
