Grandma was adopted so the Christensens are her adoptive parents. She was already with them during the 1930 census. We believe that it was a private adoption done through the Danish Seaman's Church in Baltimore, MD. Nothing is known of her biological parents except there is a rumor that the birth mother died of pneumonia soon after giving birth and the birth father put her up for adoption through the church. None of that has been verified at this time.

UPDATE! Through DNA testing Grandma's Birth Parents have been found!
Birth Father: William John Hoopes (1902 - 1964) FAG# 138426344
Birth Mother: Marie Christine Berger (1902 - 1929) FAG# 25699288
I also found a full brother! William Charles Hoopes (1924 - 1999)
I also found the adoption papers giving her birth name as Elizabeth Jane Hoopes!
