KATRINA GAYLE CHAIN, 20, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Elkview General Hospital in Hobart, Kiowa County, Oklahoma. She was born Monday, October 5, 1987, in Hobart to David Ray and Galeen Beth Irvin Chain.
As an infant she was diagnosed with severe Cerebral Palsy so she faced many health challenges during her life. She attended Hobart Public Schools special education program and graduated from Hobart High School in May 2007. She lived in Hobart all of her life. Katrina loved her family and friends and had a great love for music. She gave great joy to her family, friends, caregivers and teachers when she blessed them with her beautiful smile and laughter.
Survivors include her parents, David and Galeen Chain, of the home; her sister, Krista Gaye Chain, of the home; her paternal grandparents, Garland and Cleta (Davis) Chain of Cooperton and Hobart; a paternal uncle, Jeff Chain, Hobart; two maternal aunts, Melissa Wilhowsky and Stephanie Elkins and husband, Jeff, all of Hobart; an aunt-in-law, Dixie Irvin, Tryon, Oklahoma; and cousins, Joey Robinson of Chandler, OK; Joshua, Jeremy and Jasmine Irvin of Tryon, Oklahoma; Aprile Hunter and husband, Jeremy of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Dustie Elkins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Brian Elkins, Rachael Bolin and husband Matt, Sara Elkins, and Hannah Wilhowsky all of Hobart, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Robert Edward Irvin in 1971 and Gatha Faye (Clark) Irvin in 1990, maternal uncle Robbie Edward Irvin in 2000, maternal aunt Sally Jane Irvin in 1959, maternal great grandparents Charlie D. Irvin in 1995 and Nettie Roena (Guffee) Irvin in 1968, Roy Gree Clark in 1958 and Gay Nell (Irvin) Clark in 1991; paternal great grandparents Fred Davis in 1972 and Floy Ellen (Anderson) Davis in 1982; and Virgil Ernest Chain in 1972 and Mary Elizabeth (Ferril) Chain in 1978.
