Joe Hatmaker, 48, of Indianapolis, died suddenly of natural causes August 8, 2001. Born June 3, 1953 in Knoxville, Tennessee, he was the son of Millard Ray Hatmaker, deceased, and Sylvia Ann (Cox) Hatmaker, who survives in Mooresville. He married Deborah Ann Williams June 13, 1987. She survives in Indianapolis. He was a 1972 graduate of Avon High School. He was a systems coordinator 28 years for Indianapolis Power & Light Company. He was a member of the Southport Baptist Church, Eagle Creek Sailing Club and the IPL Men's Golf League. Other survivors include two sons, Daniel Ray and Darren James Hatmaker, both of Indianapolis; a brother, Timothy R. Hatmaker of Mooresville; and a sister, Teresa L. Anderson of Nashville, Indiana. The service will be 1 p.m. August 11, 2001, at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel in Mooresville. The Rev. Fred Oaks will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana. Friends may call from 2 to 8 o'clock today at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 681559, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268.
