Abraham Rader 77 of Richmond died Thursday May 28, 2009 at Reid Hospital after an extended illness. He was born November 13, 1931 in Lee County, Kentucky to Henry Clay and Martha Combs Rader and lived in Richmond most of his life.

Abraham worked in construction and was a member of the Laborers and Hod Carriers Union Local #1037. He was a member of the First Southern Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years Delores, three sisters Lucy Sharp of Richmond, Leeova Barrows of Louisville, Kentucky, and Cora Duncan of Washington, three brothers William and wife Thelma Rader of Brooks Station, Kentucky, Emanuel and wife Sherwin Rader of Pineville, Kentucky, and H. C. and wife Gloria Rader of Spring City, Tennessee, his sister and brother in laws, nieces and nephews.

Abraham is preceded in death by his parents, his mother in law Julia Craig, two sisters Mary Susan Spencer and Martha Francis Duncan, several half brothers, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday June 2, 2009 at the First Southern Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. David Leffel officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 PM Monday at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home.
