Roxanne Ellis, 53, and Michelle Abdill, 42 a loving couple of 12 years, and prominent civil rights activists were killed in December 1995, by 27-year-old Robert James Acremant, in Medford, Oregon. Ellis and Abdill owned a property management company, and Ellis was last known to be showing Acremant an apartment before both she and her partner were bound and gagged by Acremant and shot in the head. Their bodies were found in Acremant's pick-up truck three days after their deaths. Acremant explained ''I've known bisexual women, and that's cool. I have no problem with that. I have no compassion for . . . lesbians, or bisexual or . . . gay men. I can't deal with it.'' During his trial Acrement said he knew the two women were lesbians, and figured that their families wouldn't miss them.
