She lived at Ashdown in Little River County until 1947 when she moved to Bellefonte and lived there for 30 years. She attended the Church of Christ at Bellefonte,AR and was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge. She moved to Harrison,AR in 1978 where she lived until 1999. She was a seamstress, pianist and a caregiver to many people during her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Abney; a brother, William Andrew Adkins; four half-brothers, Doyle, Leo and James McKinley and Floyd Lockhart; a sister, Lula May McKinley Belletini; an aunt, Julia Alice Adkins; a nephew, Horace Edward Adkins; a great-niece, Isabel Rose Adkins and a stepnephew, Ronnie Abney.
Survivors include nieces; a nephew, and many other relatives.
Memorials may be made to the Boone County Women's Sanctuary.
