Kay, many thanks for your help in locating my Kentucky ancestors. Since I know where you are, please check to see if we really are "kissing cousins". I believe we are.

Kay was my back up mentor when I had a membership question as registrar of Alliklik. A pleasant and knowledgeable person to work with and talk genealogy with. She will be missed my all of us in District VIII

Kay, Here is a football for you. I know that you will have some pools going already. Now, don't be sending too much help from your vantage point. I miss you and your always positive personality. It was my priviledge to know you. You will always be with me in spirit. Thanks for your help.

'Hi Betty B' - those words were always my greeting from Kay. We have been friends since she joined Fernanda Maria when she was quiet and softspoken. As time passed on and she was more comfortable, her true nature came out and we all shared in her humor and positive attitude. We will miss that but I know she will be waiting for us when our ship arrives on the other shore. Sleep well, my friend.

Kay and I met years ago, when I was her exercise teacher at the Wilkinson Center; (I strongly suspect she attended "exercise" so she could participate in the line-dancing portion that followed). Kay taught me that socks have meaning. Kay was the only person who volunteered (with verve) to go with me to the Claremont Folk Music Festival in 2004 when I was 7 months pregnant, which was a kick! In 2002, she also peeked over her crossword and asked, "What's a 7-letter word for a bird, beginning with a 'Q'?" About a year later that became my last name.I give you an orange flower, Kay, (for my beloved Pitzer [Claremont] and your beloved Texas) to celebrate our special connection. I love and miss you, Friend!

Her voice is quiet but her spirit echoes on. Having Kay as a friend enriched my life. May she rest in peace and may her memory endure as a blessing.

These flowers are called "Forget Me Nots"- So very appropriate for a lady like yourself. There was never a genealogical wall that you couldn't climb over, plow through or knock down. You never said no to me as a novice researcher. Your helpful spirit and enthusiasm for life will be remembered by many. You were always such fun to be with and I don't doubt that you are leading the party parade in heaven. You are gone way too soon. Rest well dear Kay.

Dear Kay, You are the reason I decided to apply for DAR, particularly to the Fernanda Maria Chapter. Your warm, fun-loving personality came through clearly on that first phone conversation we had and my decision was made. Peace to you my friend.Pat

I know you are in heaven, leading the 'Show band of the South' and saying to us . . . Be not sorrowful when I die. I have fought a hard, bitter battle. The prize of rest is mine, earned through pain and strife. Be not sad, for the prize of peace if finally mine.Marlene

Kay, it's because of you that I found my ancestors. It's also because of you that I have the friends I have. I will forever miss your generosity, your advice, your happy face, the many fun times we had together and the way you lit up a room. Hope you gather all your ancestors and celebrate. Luv you.
