Staff Sgt. Francis Eugene Beckman, Williams Road, in Germany since February 25.

Sgt. Beckman is the husband of Mrs. Naomi C. Beckman, Williams Road, and a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Beckman, 222 New Hampshire avenue. He was reported missing in a telegram today from the War Department to his wife.

He entered the service last June and went overseas in November, 1944. Sgt. Beckman was with the Fifth Division of the Third Army. Prior to entering the service he was employed as a machinist by the B. and O. Railroad here.

KILLED IN GERMANY: Previously reported missing since February 26 in German, Staff Sgt. Francis Eugene Beckman, 23, (above) is now listed as dead by the War Department. A member of the Fifth Division of the Third Army, the soldier entered the service June 1, 1944, and went overseas last December.

S-Sgt. Beckman was the husband of Mrs. Naomi C. (Streiby) Beckman, Route 1, city, and a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Beckman, of 222 New Hamshire avenue. He was the father of two daughters, Rebecca Sue and Catherine Jean Beckman.
