Loving, hardworking mother of three children, Barbara, Jimmy, and Randall. Eight grandchildren, Ricky, Tanya, Scotty, Jason, Michelle, Kyle, Brian, Brandy, and many great-grandchildren. Cora was an excellent cook who was especially known for her biscuits, biscuit pudding, dumplings, and chocolate cake. Cora was born a twin, but her sister, Ora, died at about 6 mo. of age. Her mother also died when she was a baby. She was so kind and thoughtful to everyone. She was married to Luke for 54 years at the time of his death in 1996. They are both missed dearly.

Anniversary: April 16, 1941

StepMother:Lillah Smith
Brother: Walter Alston "Smitty" Smith
Brother:Ray Smith
Uncle:William Lamar "Bill" Jones

Cora

She treated me as her own,
Even if we weren't blood kin,
No better mother-in-law.
Has there ever been.

She was kind hearted and sweet,
Ever gentle to everyone.
Never mean spirited or ungracious,
They were all "someone".

I knew her and loved her,
She shared with me her son,
We both love him dearly,
Our families as one.

I cried when she left us,
Even though it was best,
She was here as a blessing,
It is her time to rest.

Since the Angels came for her,
There will never be another,
Our sweet, kind, Cora,
Almost like my mother.
