Alvin D. Fritz

1915-2006

Alvin D. "Ford" Fritz, 91, of Cheyenne died June 24 at home in Cheyenne. He was born April 25, 1915, in Fort Collins, Colo.

After graduating from Fort Collins High School, "Buddy" went to Cheyenne where two of his brothers lived, and drove the school bus. There he met and married Alice Eleanor Warner on March 9, 1940, in Kimball, Neb. They made their home in Cheyenne and Buddy continued to work for the School District until he retired.

(His wife called him Ford because he always drove that kind of car.)

Mr. Fritz was a maintenance director for Laramie County School District. He retired in 1980. He and Alice loved to go camping and hunting. He was very active until his last months. He spent time caring for his older brother who was a rancher in Glendo WY.

He is survived by his wife, Alice E. Fritz of Cheyenne; two daughters, Janice Fritz of Longmont, Colo., and Judith Sessions of Corvallis, Ore.; and one grandchild.

Mr. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Myrta Fritz; brothers, Charlie, Vernon, Rodney, Ellis, Arlie, Merril, Alfred, Earnest, and Clark; and sisters, Elsie, Bessie, Doris, Alma and his twin, baby Alice.
