William Alexander came to Maury Co., Tn. about 1807. He acquired 5000 acre trace of land from Trasury Gras from the State of North Carolina or by outright purchase. s/o Daniel and Prudence Alexander b. probably in Cecil Co., Maryland,, some records give his birthplace as No. Carolina. He was living in Mecklenburg Co. at the time of the Revoultion He served as a Liet in the 4th Reviment No. Carolina troops He was the husband of Ester Brown Alexander. They had 10 children:Daniel 1767; Prudence 1772; Peggy; Silas 1777; Esther 1781; Alexander Brown 1787; Priscila 1788;
