Robert Conrad Broadway, age 23, of Thornton, IL, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011. Loving and devoted son of Eric and Donna (nee Zarris) Broadway. Dear brother of Amy (Dan) Broadway-Ducat, Cherie, Jill, and Gerald (Jess) Broadway. Kind uncle of Ella Broadway. Cherished grandson of Ellen Broadway and Deno (Bonnie) Zarris. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 651 E. 166th St., South Holland, IL 60473 with Rev. Beverly Conway officiating. Interment at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Steger, IL. Robert was a light in many lives. Everyone who came in contact with him loved him instantly and faithfully. He is and always will be greatly missed. A 23-year-old man found shot in the chest at a south suburban gas station over the weekend committed a suicide, officials said.
