Russell L. Colussy, age 62, of Erin, New York, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was born on April 1, 1949 in Elmira, N.Y. to the late Victor and Mary (Watts) Colussy.

Russell is survived by his wife, Maxine (Grover) Colussy of Erin; children, Dawn (Charles) Johnson of Elmira, Jennifer (Frederick) Evans of Lockwood and Jason (Amy) Colussy of Horseheads; sister, Rose (James) MacBlane of Erin; grandchildren, Adam and Caleb Johnson, Kelsey, Kaycee, Cole and Tanner Evans and Gracyee Mae Colussy; mother-in-law, Maxine Share of Erin; several brothers and sisters-in-law; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; close friends, Kay Ellis and Susan Orourke and canine companion "Daisy".

Russell was a Deputy Sheriff for the Cheumung County Sheriff's Office for many years and he retired from the Unified Court System in Elmira, N.Y.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 29th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Scott Lowmaster officiating.

Ken and I have known Russ for 41 years. He was a good husband, father and a good friend to many.

Russ was a Viet Nam Veteran.
