/Madeline was the oldest of 6 children. After the death of her mother, her dad moved the family to San Diego, CA. Later, she married John Ehmke and they had 3 children by this union. Together, they owned and operated a small bait and tackle shop near Mission Beach, San Diego, CA. After losing John in a boating accident several years later in the San Diego Bay, she married Robert Leon Woodward and together they had 3 more children. Between this marriage, they had a blended family of 8 children. Madeline was a God fearing woman who taught her children about Jesus. Madeline taught Sunday School to little children as well for many years. In later years, she took up nursing, joining the staff at Edgemoor Geriatric Hospital in Santee, CA until her retirement. A little more about her: she loved to sing and crochet. She loved a bowl of peas with butter and her chosen meat was ground beef.

Madeline passed away with Alzheimer's Disease at a care center in National City, CA. She loved her family very much and she is greatly missed.

My sincerest thanks to Find A Grave contributor, Judith (Konkler) Zervas, for fulfilling my photo request for my beloved parents Madeline and Robert Woodward.

"Rest in sweet peace mom. Missing you every day."
