Gwendolyn was the first-born child and oldest daughter of Thad Gilbert Babb and Beryl Lorene Woodall. She was stillborn on January 6, 1912, just 5 days after Thad and Beryl's first wedding anniversary.
She is buried in their walled family plot in the small country cemetery of Mill Creek.
I remember my Grandmother (Beryl Babb) grieving for her even when she was elderly, and Grandmother always hoped that one of her grandchildren or great grandchildren would name a daughter "Gwendolyn."
A year after Gwendolyn, Thad and Beryl had their first living child, Harold Thaddeus; quickly followed by James Carlton (always called "Carlton") in 1914 and by Mary Frances (called "Frances" later in life) in 1915. Their 5th and last child was Sarah Alice, born in 1921.
