1923 - 2013
Margaret Martin Barks, 89, a native and lifelong resident of Pensacola, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 28, 2013. Mrs. Barks was a charter member of First Assembly of God and served as the Director of the Nursery for 42 years and was known as "Mama Barks". She was well known for her baking and culinary skills.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Howard F. Barks;
Survivors include two sons, Ron Barks (Joyce) and David J. Barks; three daughters,
V. Earlene Barks, B. J. Wilson and Barbara J. Williams (Rick); six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and a sister Noni Thames.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God with Reverend David Scruggs and Rev Dan Livingston officiating.
Interment will take place at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
