Married first wife 25~Sept~1831 Fleming Co. Ky. to Mary Markwell born 17~March~1815 Fleming Co. Ky. died 22~Oct~1843 Adams Co, Ill buried Burton Cemetery daughter of James and Rebecca{Van Landingham}Markwell.
They had 6 children. In 1850, Hiram's children by his first wife Mary, were John Trothers, Rebecca, Mary E., and Walter Arris. were living with Markwell grandparents in Fleming Co Ky. James M. and Nancy Jane were not living with grandparents.
Married second wife 27~June~1844 Fleming Co Ky, Amanda Caroline Clementine{Filson]Williams born 24~June~1814 Fleming Co Ky died 1865 Fleming Co. Ky, widow of William W. Williams and daughter of Samuel and Mary{Cooper} Filson.
Hiram and Amanda had 6 children.
In 1850 in Fleming co Hiram and Amanda were living with their 6 children Maxwell S. or Shelton Maxwell, Elisha Filson., Henrietta Mertella., Frances H., Willam Darnell born 5-23-1855 and his step daughter Rachel S. Williams.
In 1865 Hiram abandoned Amanda and his children.
