Patsy grew up with her aunts, Nevera Jane Roberts and Brenda Joyce Roberts Lee. The three of them were close in age and affectionately referred to each other as sisters throughout their lives. She was also very close to her sister-in-law, Connie Mae Banzhoff. They too thought of each other as sisters. Her family was her greatest love, starting with her maternal grandparents, Marion Gray Roberts, and Iva Mae Dickey; her mother, Elizabeth; her brothers, James Boyd Clelland and Edward William O'Neal; her sister, Faye Louise Pittman Graves; and especially her children; her grandchildren, Joshua and Jamie Redmon, Jessica and Elizabeth Ann Conway, and Travis D'Hondt; and her great grandchildren, twins Liam and Lillian Hacker, and Lucille Mae "Lucy" Redmon.
Patsy was a nurse for many years, starting as an aide working at both the old King's Daughters Hospital and the State Hospital for the Feeble Minded in Frankfort, Kentucky. In 1970, she went to nursing school in Danville, Kentucky and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Over the years, she worked for the Veteran's Administration in both Lexington, and Louisville, Kentucky, as well as the Masonic's Home in Louisville. She also worked at the state laboratory in Frankfort in the mid 70s and again in the late 90s.
Patsy was always the life of the party. Her wit and charm was enjoyed by all those whose lives were touched by having the honor to have known her. She welcomed friends into her home and treated them just as she would her family.
