In receiving his original Social Security Application, it states that his parents are: Robert Denton Ijames, and Lula nee Jarboe. Upon entering the service, my grandfather Robert Newton Ijames, changed the spelling of his last name from Ijames to Eimes and his birthdate, he was under the age of 18 at the time and wanted to join the Army.
Robert Newton Ijames-Eimes was my paternal grandfather. I never had the pleasure of meeting him or getting to know him. May he rest in peace always.
