Illinois National Guardsman called to federal duty as a member of B Company, 192nd Tank Battalion. He was later transferred to Hq Company. Fought on Bataan and became a Prisoner of War when Bataan was surrendered to the Japanese on April 9, 1942. He was executed on the Bataan Death March.
