Chester "Chet" Allen Bonner Sr., 73, of Industry, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2004, in the Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital in Michigan. Born Dec. 1, 1930, in Beaver, he was a son of the late Cletus D. Bonner Sr. and Lucy June Breckenridge Bonner Cascio. A graduate of Beaver High School, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Geneva College and did graduate work at Penn State University and Vanderbilt University. A retired English and Science teacher, he had 33 years of service in the Western Beaver School District.A veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict, he was in Special Services, O.S.S. His family admired his passion and dedication as a Past Commander and Chief of American Legion Post 481, Midland. With his position at Post 481, he was honored to present the top student with the American Legion Academic Excellence Award. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8168 and the Lions Club, and had attended the Fairview Reformed Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Komo; a brother, Samuel J. Cascio Jr.; a sister, June Cascio, and his stepfather, Samuel J. Cascio Sr. Chet is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Kempfer Bonner; a son and daughter-in-law, Chester Allen Jr. and Jennifer Bonner, New Brighton; daughters and sons-in-law, Dee and R. Duff Barclay, Beaver; Cindy Samu, Raccoon Township; Yvette and Sean Suehr, Crescent Township; Linda Hepler, Beaver, and Christine and Bill DePaul, Center Township; a brother, Cletus D. Bonner Jr., Beaver; his stepmother, Lois Smeltzer Cascio, Beaver; 17 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
