Your duty to your adopted land was overshadowed by the ethnic bigotry of the era. Your honor tarnished, and your commission deminished. But your memory and loyalty to the Court of Saint James and the Realm shall always shine in the hearts of those whom are forever loyal to Queen, Empire and God. " Modo inferius animus curo bellum un calamitas, sumpsi un deleo; turpis. Noli tracho noster villa ante culpa unis appello iucundus tuus Britannia!"

Sir, you were unfairly treated as a result of the Anti-German sentiment that was so common in Britain during the Great War. You served your adopted country with loyalty and honor for decades, and you were forced to resign as First Sea Lord because of your foreign birth. And your promotion to Admiral of the Fleet just weeks before your death in 1921 was belated. You should have been awarded that rank sooner. Despite the shabby way you were treated, you conducted yourself with dignity. And I am quite certain that in that great Admiralty headquarters in the sky, you are having a grand reunion with your old shipmates and your son and fellow Fleet Admiral, Lord Mountbatten. Rest easy, Sir.
