Son of Caleb and Phebe (Walton) Ball. War of 1812 veteran. Married Elizabeth Harper. Licensed as a local minster in Methodist Episcopal Church May 28, 1835 and rode the circuit in western Pennsylvania. He was appointed Justice of the Peace by Gov. Wolf in 1831 and held the office for many years.

He and Elizabeth Harper were married, July 14, 1817 in Coolspring Twp., Mercer County, PA.
