He was the son of James W Frost (1823-1890) and Celia Lindsey (1823-UNK)

Confederate Soldier's Application (Under Act of 1910) - According to the application, he enlisted in 1863 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. He was assigned to Company "C", 5th Georgia Regiment. The Company surrendered in Greensboro, N.C. in 1864. W. H. Frost was home on sick furlough at the time of surrender. He left his company in 1864 near Griffin, Georgia while they were on the march. Sick leave was granted by the officers in command for an indefinite period. He left the company the latter part of 1864 with the measles. Prior to November 4, 1908, he owned 150 acres of land in Johnson County. The land was valued at $750.00 and stock valued at $200.00

After November 4, 1908, he sold 149 acres and all stock to C. S. Moseley and John Sheppard for $1200.00 in order to pay legal debts. All he had left was the house he lived in and the lot the house was on. The house and lot were valued at $400.00. And one horse, valued at $50.00. He further stated on the application, he was disabled (not able to work.)

He was approved for pension payments and received same till his death on May 12, 1920. After his death his wife, Nancy, drew a widow's pension. She died January 10, 1924. Sidney C. Frost, son of W. H. and Nancy Frost, submitted a bill to the pension board for payment of his mother's funeral expenses.
