Civil War Veteran - Enlisted on January 1, 1864, age 37, and mustered on January 1, 1864, into Company H, 5th New Hampshire Infantry (Union).


Regiment on duty at Draft Rendezvous, Concord, N. H., till November 1863. Moved to Point Lookout, Md., November 8-13, 1863, and duty there guarding prisoners till May 27, 1864. Moved to Cold Harbor, Va., May 27-June 1, and joined the Army of the Potomac.


Battles, Skirmishes, and Engagements: Cold Harbor June 1-12; Before Petersburg, Va., June 16-19.


Died of Disease on November 9, 1864, at Grant General Hospital, Willetts Point, New York.


Widow Pension filed on September 1, 1866 (Application No. 132,931 and Certificate No. 151,900).
