Eleanor Lucille London Barnett
91, Indianapolis passed away on October 15, 2012. She worked as a clerk for 38 years at the Internal Revenue Service. Previous employment was the Indiana State Auditor and Fort Harrison Finance Center. Eleanor was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was also a member of The National Council of Negro Women, the Alpha Home Junior Auxiliary, the Indianapolis Chapter of Black Catholics Concerned, the Nightingale Social Club and the Postal Auxiliary Alliance. She is survived by her husband Carl Lee Barnett; a daughter Sharon Evans Brissette (Ralph), step-children Dana Barnett (Anita), Dena C. Barnett and William Barnett; Nephew Frederick Evans III (Linda); 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The Barnett family wishes to thank Drs. Debra Carter Miller and Michael Slaughter for their gentle and professional medical care as well as the physicians and staff of Methodist Hospital and St. Francis Hospital; Chanel Thompson, a great niece, for Eleanor's daily care and Linda Evans for maintaining Eleanor's medical information.
Viewing will be at Stuart Mortuary Friday October 26, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm and funeral mass October 27, 2012 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 11am. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
