Mrs. Ardis was born in Sumter the daughter of the late William R. and Susie Taylor Davis. She was a lifetime member of Grace Baptist Church, a pianist for 32 years in the adult department of Grace, a graduate of Edmunds High School, and also attended Columbia Bible College. She retired from Campbell Soup Co.
Survivors are two sons; three daughters; three brothers; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, William Robert Davis and Richard Gordon Davis; and one son, Jimmy Allen Ardis.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. James Chandler and the Rev. Howard Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Sumter Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be the city of Sumter Police Department.
